While visiting my parents in Chattanooga, I booked a walking tour with Chattanooga Ghost Tours. The 2-hour "Murder and Mayhem" Tour took you around notably haunted or notorious sights in downtown Chattanooga.
We visited several reportedly haunted locations. We approached one of the final stops and our tour guide Jessica told the group the location was once a hospital / mental asylum.
It was now just an abandoned building with a notoriously haunted reputation. Jessica said it was a great place to capture possible ghostly photos.
It looked like just an old abandoned building.
Jessica started talking about all the ways in which those who were committed were treated with lobotomies, electric shock therapy and many other treatments we would consider torture today. I kept snapping photos.
Here is a photo of Jessica talking to the group. Look at the second floor window slightly above and to the right of Jessica (wearing all black and wearing the hat).
